James J. Storrow Drive near Copley Square Exit

Boston, MassachusettsApr 16, 20081 Comments

There is a State Trooper sitting on the emergency elbow on the right side of Storrow Drive going eastbound into Boston aiming his radar at oncoming cars. This, coincidentally, is the spot where the low speed limit goes from 40 MPH to an even lower 30. The location of this elbow is right after the Mass. Ave. overpass and before the Copley exit.

I take this road to work everyday and have only recently seen him there in the past month or so around 9:30 AM. If anyone has driven on this road, know that the average speed of traffic is about 45-55 MPH and you’re pretty much guaranteed a hefty speeding ticket because the speed limit is only 30 on a road that I would consider a highway.

Comments:
the cop that parks here is a complete idiot, I almost hit this guy after a snow storm, the emergency lane was considerably reduced due to the amount of snow piled up by the plows, road conditions were very poor and so was his parking job, but he was out there radar aiming and all exposing himself to danger just to give out a ticket, come on, right conditions for every thing, who is number on on your book, your entire body or a speeding ticket?
