drop your speed immediately when coming from the Hatteras ferry terminal south into Ocracoke, upon seeing the 25 mph sign. No leeway seems to be offered, except to locals, who are known and not bothered. Enforcement is Hyde County Sheriff’s Dept., and sometimes NC Highway Patrol.
