Speed trap...maybe, but mostly intended for red light runners...and that's dangerous, so they should be fined!

This is a speed trap because the light is timed so that traffic from Marine Drive cannot cross without running the light. Example; 20 cars leaving MD to left turn on Kitsap Way, light will allow ONE car then turns yellow. 2nd car OK, is across center line before the light turn red, 3rd car = TICKET. This is all day, rush hour or not. City makes a BUNCH of money off this light, and it's all profit. No expense for cops, just mail the ticket. I know...I worked for Dominoes not 200 feet from the light and had to go through it for three years. Also, after dark, a car approaching on Kitsap Way on a green light will find the light turning yellow when he gets within about 50 feet, even without any traffic on the road and even if it JUST turned green. In 2007, Bremerton reported over $1 million in citations to the city budget.
