As you travel either east or west on Lake Cook Road at the Highway 21/45 overpass the posted limit is 45 miles per hour. Because this stretch of Lake Cook is three lanes, wide open and smooth as glass drivers will routinely travel well in excess of 45 MPH. Because of this the Village of Buffalo Grove Police Department often sets a speed trap on either side of the overpass. Because of the climb up the overpass, your view of the bottom is obscured. Therefore, by the time you see the officer in a parking lot on the north side of Lake Cook (when you are traveling WEST) or the 21/45 entrance ramp on the south side of Lake Cook(when you are traveling EAST) it’s too late.
