Lake Pine, near entrance to Lake Pine Park.

Cary, North CarolinaJun 27, 20111 Comments

Approximately a half mile from NC 64 near the entrance to Lake Pine Park, at the bottom of the hill, cameras are set up for each direction to catch anyone exceeding 35mph. You may be doing 35mph at the top of the hill but by the time you go down the hill you pick up speed, and if you are over 35mph the camera will go off.

Comments:
From SW Cary Parkway at stop light at intersection of Cary Parkway and Lake Pine Drive is a speed trap. Beware - traveling will be allowed in excess of 35 mph up to 1/2 mile from entrance onto Lake Pine Drive. The hill does not allow a slow down - especially if roads are slick due to rain or snow. Avoid this area in inclement weather and realize when entering neighborhoods or areas with the possibility of ambulance activity that this will become an issue and speeding tickets will be issued. Even if you have no infractions on your license whatsoever - there are no verbal warnings to slow down - you will be ticketed. Wake County is smart - that ensures revenue.
