Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Dona Lola Drive
Police often wait around bend on southbound Laurel Canyon Blvd. just past signal at Dona Lola & Dona Pegita Drives. Once you have rounded the bend, it’s too late. Northbound Laurel Canyon can also be a trap as motorcycle officers will sit in driveways pointing radar at vehicles rounding the downhill bends south of Mullholland Drive.Be sure you are doing no more than 38mph! (It’s a 35 zone, but folks will often push 50+ there)

This is most definitely a speed trap. I've been lasered twice there by the same motorcycle officer (I know, shame on me). The first time he honestly had the wrong car. I had just made a u-turn and he said I was at 60mph in the downhill curve. Not at all accurate. Plus my detector never made a peep and if a laser is anywhere near it you'll know. I insisted on seeing the clocking device readout, asked if it had a time and day stamp (nope), and then asked for his supervisor. Once he arrived I told him my story. No point in doing so. He informed me this particular officer was his best and most consistent at generating citations. I fought it in court with hired representation and still lost. I wouldn't mind if I were guilty. Finally, 35 for LCB cannot be a reasonably set speed. I wonder if anyone knows the last time that section was surveyed or how I could locate that info? Nonetheless take it at 40 or under either direction on LCB between Ventura and Mulholland.
