Lelia Lake, Texas
Lelia Lake, population 125 in year 2000, is now a deserted-looking group of buildings and consists of only a few short streets. The county officer hides and pulls out to catch unsuspecting motorists who may have not even noticed their 55 mph sign which continues for a few hundred yards. Lelia Lake is 58 miles SE of Amarillo on Highway 287.
