I will admit that Speed Traps will reduce the amount of Speeding infractions. However, I think there is a much more effective way of reducing Speeding violations on Levin ave...and that is the use of Cameras! They have been used for a number of years, not only in this Country, but also in Europe, and have been found to be very effective! The camera is able to get the photo of the car license as well as the make of the car and the Driver and they will receive a Speeding ticket in the mail. This will replace the need for Police to ticket the Violaters! This alone will offset the cost of installing electronic survellience! One thing people do not want is a "moving violation"!! Especially the Teenage Drivers that speed down Levin....let's fact it, they do not want to lose their license! In additon, the Drivers that do drive responsibly and stay within the Speed Limit are not inconvenienced by the annoyance of Speed Bumps!
