Loop 250

Midland, TexasMar 19, 20104 Comments

Cops will sit on the other side of overpasses where you can’t see them coming from the opposite direction and radar you when you come over the overpass. I have seen officers standing at the end of the overpass guardrail with radar in hand and will radio to the squad car to pick you up down the road. Be careful coming over the overpasses!

I've seen this several times here on the loop...it was a little shocking..but to me...if you aren't breaking the law...you don't have anything to worry about. Only twice that I've ever been pulled over have I ever disagreed with the officer because he was TOTALLY wrong...but any other time..I accept what I have coming to me....I appreciate their efforts and hard work! It can't be easy!

I drive the Loop almost every day and can tell you it’s a race track. Numerous fatalities and serious injuries occur annually. I set my cruise control on the speed limit plus 3 mph and count the number of cars that pass me and the number that I pass, 93% of the traffic is going faster than my 63 mph with some driving 80+ mph. What’s more the location of police radar units are published in the newspaper. First you are told what the speed limit is and then you are told where the police are going to be. So much for a trap.

They are still doing this. Saw them about 10 this morning on the Loop (northbound) between the 191 and Wadley exits. They had five or six people pulled over. I thought I would get nailed but all the cops were occupied and I was only doing 65 or so.
