Main St (AA Hwy) & Harris

When Main St was under construction south of the RR tracks, they had cones set up, so it was like driving through an obstacle course and they had reduced the speed limit to 20 mph. I was driving at the normal speed of 25 mph as I didn’t see the reduced speed limit sign. I got pulled over after crossing the RR tracks and was informed that I was driving at 41 mph and was cited for that. I looked up, on their web site, the violation charges for tickets, can you imagine what I found, 41 mph is the next step to a higher fine and it’s doubled in a construction zone. Missouri law doesn’t allow you to view the radar so it’s your word against theirs. I went back the next day to look for the 20 mph sign, it was there but posted when you were half way into the construction zone and they were sitting approx. 50 yards on the other side. IMO, Grain Valley’s police department is crooked and they take advantage of drivers who tend to drive more expensive vehicles. Stay out of Grain Valley if at all possible.
