Speed limit changes abruptly from the village limit of 30 MPH to 15 MPH during school hours. Local court doubles fines for speeding in school zone.

Speed limit for a period just before school, during school and after school activities is 20mph and not 15mph as stated above. There is plenty of advanced warning and the signs for the limit zone flash when 20mph is in effect. The village also has a number of electronic speed signs that tell drivers how fast they are going.
