Meacham/Medinah Road near Elgin/O’Hare Expressway
Cars are pulled over and charged with speeding in a "school zone" regardless of whether children are present or not. You will be charged with going exactly 42 in a "school zone" regardless of what speed you are actully going. Six people in court, all charged with going 42, all said no children present, all from same cop. DA pulled all six of us into the hallway and offered us a deal not to fight it. He knew and he knew the judge would know this was a scam. The cop played off of peoples normal rection of "oh my God , you were speeding in a school zone?", picturing kids and crossing guards, etc. even though this was not the case. Simply avoid this stretch of road because you could be pulled over even though you are obeying the actual speed laws as I was. I drive over 50,000 miles a year on my job, I obey speed laws, I have to as I am on the road so much. This is the only ticket I have received in ten years.
