Meadowbrook & Wantagh Crossing near Exit Number M9 & W6
On either the Meadowbrook and Wantagh Parkways southbound the speed limit is 55 mph and the prevailing traffic speed is 65-75 mph (when traffic is light). 70% of the traffic exits onto Sunrise Highway and Merrick Rd and the road opens up wide as you enter Jones Beach State park. So tempting to lean into the gas pedal a bit, huh?. Bad move, as there are many many places to hide and almost always a trooper in one of them. They will snipe you for 65 or more in a 55 usually.
