Merrimon Avenue near Just out of woodfin into asheville

Asheville, North CarolinaMay 23, 20052 Comments

Several days of the week there are law enforcement cars at every street going south to merrimon ave starting at reece alignment to the new asheville library.

The large number of police cars on this stretch of Merrimon Ave. occurs once a month. This is used as a radar training session for units throughout Western North Carolina. No tickets are given. As residents, we look forward to these days because it is the only time drivers observe the 35 mph speed limit and create minimal noise levels. Vehicles travel this area entirely too fast. It is a residential area where people are continually crossing this highway to use the lake which borders one side of this stretch of road.

Agree with the above post. I travel that section of road 4 times a day Mon - Fri. It's just a training session. Most of the cops in the cars aren't even in uniform.
