Mile Hill Rd

Coming down the big hill towards I-84 and Rt 34 on Mile Hill Rd, the speed limit is 30 mph. The Newtown cop will be on the right at the bottom of the hill. To maintain 30 mph or less, you’ll need to heavily ride the brake. It’s ridiculous that the speed limit is so low here. A perfect speed trap.

Comments:
Just got a $176.00 ticket tonight. 17 miles over the limit! Why so slow in a place where there are fields?

I moved out of Southbury in 2009. However, reading our local paper called Voices, the police reports always said about a road block here; always after it happened, of course. Not only were they hard about speeding; they loved to catch people whose cars "Smelled like marijuana". Baro, the Newtown police's "dope dog" was always sniffing around somebody's car, according to the paper. The usual suspects often being Hispanic and/or black-can anybody say "profiling"? Assuming that nothing has changed in the past six years, the only thing I can tell people is " Look out!". Especially on holiday weekends.
