Ewa bound on Moanalua freeway (H201) at or immediately after the Ft. Shafter/Ahua St. exit (Exit 4) there is usually a solo bike or a patrol car (marked or unmarked) parked on the right shoulder. Sometimes they are parked on the paved median where the Ft. Shafter/Ahua St. exit begins. Other times they are parked after the exit on the grass shoulder behind some bushes. They are there on any given day of the week during night to late night (starting at around 8 pm) and early morning hours (12 am to pass 4 am). Speed limit in this area is 50 mph. Since the portion of the freeway entering this area is at a wide right hand bend and slightly down hill, it is easy to do 65+ mph and not see them until you get out of the bend when it’s too late.
