Monkton Rd. just west of its terminus at Bristol Rd.
This stretch of road has a 35 mph speed limit. If you miss the sign at the corner stating that, you are in trouble: the road is a rural Vermont road with woods on either side and virtually no houses on it. You would never suspect it would have a 35 mph limit. I was stopped by a sheriff at noon on a weekday – not much traffic on the roads, but he had just barely stopped another driver ahead of me. A person I met afterwards told me that this stretch of road was notorious for lurking sheriffs.
