Morris Road near College Parkway
Flower Mound is a risky place to drive. The speed limits tend to be lower than what you’d think and there are many places where, if you are not more alert than usual, you are speeding and don’t even realize it. At the intersection of Morris and College street during school hours you enter a school zone on College about 20 yards before the light. Heading west on College I caught the light, after it turned green I turned left on Morris where there is not a speed limit sign to be seen indicating I was still in a school zone. I guess it could be argued that there was nothing to tell me I was not in a school zone either but the fact is there were several traffic cops on foot in a court just past the intersection with radar waving us speeders into the court. Enough of us were fooled that there were five cars pulled over, including me. While techincally the town probably didn’t do anything wrong, ethically I think they did. BTW, I’ve heard that this is the case at several similar locations around the town. Be alert at all times, when in doubt, drive much slower than you feel comfortable driving.
