Moscow Road near State Highway 100

Moscow, VermontFeb 26, 20071 Comments

Small town with a general store used as an access/egress route from Stowe Ski Area. Police Department’s only reason for existence is to trap skiiers leaving ski area and generate money. Being stopped is like being a traveling saleman in Georgia backwoods in the 1960s. Stay on Route 100 through Stowe and take Mountain Roud to Stowe instead.

Comments:
Moscow, VT speed trap is definitely that! We were taking pictures out of the car windows of the snow-covered mountains - going no faster than 40mph when stopped by Stowe police. He "caught up" with us 3 miles past the point of his "clocking us going 52mph" in the "town" of Moscow. He lost sight of the car clocked - it could have been someone else. We were definitely not going that fast. The "town" consists of one church and 10 houses. There are no intersections, no stop signs, no traffic lights, no businesses and no clue that the speed limits should be reduced. Speed limits set at 25mph are designed only to "trap" unsuspecting tourists who cannot return to the state to contest the ticket. They show no mercy such as a warning ticket. It is legalized thievery. What a nice way to treat tourists!
