Mound Road under I-696

North and South bound on Mound as you pass under I-696 a cop will sitting just behind the pillor. It’s so bad now since the speed limit in that area has been bumped up (I believe it’s 45 MPH).

Comments:
This trap was being manned by two biker warren cops at the same time. As I approached the trap traveling south on Mound towards the overpass one officer had a moterist pulled over and the other was facing a laser gun towards the south bound lanes. The Speed limit is 50 MPH. The terrain is hilly and the line of sight limited to a few hundred feet. I saw the blue flashing lights and second officer lasing and maintained by legal speed. I have a clean record but i have had to slam on the brakes when unsure of the posted speed at times. The second officer whipped around as i passed and i waited for him to pull the driver in frond or behind me over but he wanted me. He wrote me for 65mph in a 50 and there was absolutely no way i was going esentially a freeway speed on a surface road. He noted 883ft and "radar detector" on my ticket. He asked me why I wasn't using the detector as it was unplugged and I told him its for construction alerts which is true, plus they are inneffective against the microsecond burst of laser unless one can change speed in a fraction of a second! I have had a few tickets in the more then 40 years of driving averaging about one every 8 or ten years and I always take the no points deals they offer if i was even one mile over the limit but this was either a detection error or deliberate lie on the officers part. i think the radar detector may have may the officer confident of predjudicing the case or he wouln't have added the note. Perhaps the detector itself was his reason for stopping me as he made no motion to turn around until it was in sight only a few feet from my passing vehicle. I can afford the ticket if its a lesson i needed to slow me down but this is a travisty of injustice i must fight because it was absolutely wrong. Had he said i was 1 to 5 over I may have just paid it! 65mph would be deadly in that spot and my car would likely have went airborn on the hill!
