Police are often present between Burnt Hill Road and the intersection of Route 601 (Great Rd.). Speed drops from 45 to 35 as you pass a firehouse and approach an historic village with a church and school (25 when children are present). Daytime patrols have increased lately because of construction in the area, but vigorous enforcement is in effect after construction hours. Local police are looking to reduce speeds further once paving is completed.
