Mt. Rose Highway Eastbound to 395
Going downhill from Galena to the 395 Freeway, the speed limit is an unrealistic 55mph suddenly slowing to 50mph just after the Chevron station on the leFort It is not unusual to find 2 or 3 Nevada Highway Patrol cars pulling people over. Make sure you slow to 50 at the sign, which is easy to miss on the right. Good revenue raiser for the overstaff NHP

Nice grade coming down this stretch makes your car want to go much faster than the limit. That, combined with residential, businesses, schools, and medical centers on either side of the highway and several direct entry/exits to it is the reasons the cops sit there. High potential for very fatal accidents on that stretch.
