N Kiwanis Ave & I-90

Racine, WisconsinJan 14, 20093 Comments

Northbound I-90 traffic at Hwy G. One (non-uniformed) deputy on top of overpass with Laser Reader. 6 Racine County Sheriff’s cars (Not visible on other side of overpass) dispached to pull over cars going (probably more than 10 mph) over the 65 mph limit. Like spearing fish in a barrel. Racine county took over enforcement from cash-strapped State Patrol recently.

Comments:
The County Sheriff did not take over for the State Patrol; they are duplicating the job that The State Patrol does, but they are writing many, many tickets to fill their sheriff's budget, that, and only that is the reason they are on the interstate. Watch out if you are a minority.

I 90 does not pass thru Racine Co. There is a Hwy G on I-94 which goes North through the east and Hwy G which crosses over it on the North side of the co. This has been under construction for some time and the Sheriff used to sit up there and maybe will again.

This is a correction for the above comment, talking about the speedtraps at Hwy G & I-90. The author has the wrong interstate! It is I-94 that passes under Hwy. G in Racine County!! (I-90 goes from Rcckford to Madison, WI.) I-94 comes up from Chicago and passes through Racine Co. as it goes through Milwaukee and on to Madison Wi. etc. Other than that, you are correct about the speedtraps up on Hwy G!! Except right now there is construction all along I-94 therefore less speedtraps. I'm sure they will resume there "normal" activity once the construction is done. This trap runs all the way from Hwy-G to past 7 mile Road along I-94!!! You need to be on the look-out all the way thru Milwaukee!
