N OAK STREET 17TH AVENUE N TO 29TH AVENUE N
Myrtle Beach City Cops sit in the back part of the old Kmart parking lot on N Oak St. during light and quiet traffic times and ticket motorists going even slightly above the 35 MPH speed limit. The street is 4 lanes and mid-day is often w/o many vehicles so drivers often forget the limit and go above 35. The Myrtle Beach City Cops don’t care if it’s no harm no foul, they are raising revenue you will get at least a $78 fine and 2 points even slightly over 35 up to 10 MPH over. As a local I’ve seen the City of Myrtle Beach Police make most of the city a speed trap; be very mindful within city limits.
