New Hackensack Rd Between Widmer and Rte 9
Driving towards Rte 9 the speed limit drops from 40-45 to 30 right after Widmer Rd. There is usually a Town cop in parking lot by Longobardi Restaurant. Its on a hill so you don’t see the cop till he already see’s you! Same thing coming from Rt 9. Its only a 3 block stretch but they get alot of people who are not aware of the speed limit drop.

If you get stopped in this trap, claim that you entered New Hackensack (County Route 104) from Widmer Road. The posted speed on Widmer is 40 MPH and there is no sign indicating a that you are entering a speed zone change to 30 mph. From Widmer Road, the FIRST indication that the speed limit is 30 MPH is at the bottom the hill by "Fun Central." Because the county has not posted an appropriate speed limit sign for those entering New Hackensack from Widmer, this omission is grounds for having the ticket dismissed "in the interest of justice." I speak from personnel experience.
Watch out the village has a scam going. You will pretty much automatically be dropped down to a parking ticket if you plead not guilty. The Village of Wappingers will then keep a 100% of the fine and the state will not see any.
