New Miami now has a camera that takes a picture of your license plate and car if you are speeding and they mail you the ticket.

Comments:
I was driving along US 27 in New Miami on July 31, 2013, and am well aware of the change of speed from 50 down to 35 MPH. I have known of this speed trap for years, so I always slow down to the limit. I received a camera ticket in the mail today with a fine of $95.00. They had a pic of my car as well as my plates. The letter said I was doing 47 MPH....I say I was not! If you go ahead and pay the fine they won't report it to the DMV or your insurance company. If you contest the charges, you have court costs and fines (if you lose) and the IT IS reported to your insurance and the DMV. WHAT A RACKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
