North Glebe Road (northbound) about 1/2 mile before Chain Bridge
This is an irritating operation that has been around for years. At this location, Glebe Road is a four lane divided highway. The northbound lanes are straight for at least a half mile and go down hill on a gentle slope. The trap is set just around the curve where Glebe Road turns to the right and is still a divided highway. A sign just before the curve indicates a 25 MPH SPEED LIMIT. (Well beyond the curve, Glebe Road does squeeze to two lanes as it winds down the hill to Chain Bridge.) (This observer uses this road principally on weekends.) The trap was last observed around 5 PM on Saturday 2/23/02, in broad daylight, during good weather and relatively low traffic conditions.
