North Hills Blvd at Fairway

A motorcycle cop sits in the median at the crest of the hill on North Hills. When you cross McCain Blvd comming down the hill you will have to brake to avoid going over the 30mph limit.

Comments:
Considering that this is in a residential area although a through street, it is necessary to slow the speed here. People are so determined to get ahead of the guy in the next lane that instead of going the posted 30 mph they are up to 50 mph or even higher by the time they have gone just this one block and are forcing their way into the next lane. There have been more wrecks in this area than you would believe causing people to be late for work, children to be late for school, plus the injuries besides property damage. Drivers have a mile to a mile and a half to merge at the posted limit yet they MUST gun it to a faster speed to get ahead of the next guy. This was the worst accident area during the morning hours in the city until the police put this "speed trap". Now there is very seldom a wreck. I do not consider this a speed trap, but a traffic safety control.

The police have been 'working' the length of McCain Blvd. through 47th for the last two weeks. Speed limit is 30mph through entire length. Sign says 'NO Tolerance'. Most traffic has increased to 50 mph. Speed and get a ticket.

Amen plus they no longer have motorcycles. Check the budget, they don’t make much from tickets
