North Huron River Drive near Fort Road

The speed limit is 25 mph, they will hide anywhere from the Marathon Station to Striecher Road.

I am from downriver and was heading to a friends house, I ended up taking Huron river drive instead of Ypsilanti st which turns into Gibraltar rd. When I got near I-75 the speed limit changes from 35 to 25 just before the last bend in the road. As I came around the bend I saw a police car sitting there and I automatically let off the gas. When I passed the cop car I was doing 28mph as I proceeded to I-75 north I noticed he had his lights on and pulled me over and ended up giving me a ticket for 39mph in a 25mph zone. I haven't had a speeding ticket in 15 years. I was ticked off so we drove back to see where the change in the speed limit was and low and behold there was a sign that was partially covered by a tree. I was wondering if anyone knows if they have done a speed study on that stretch of Huron river drive from Olmsted to I-75 because that is definitely a speed trap and if your not familiar with the area they will get you every time.

Huron River Rd. used to be bad for many years east of I 75. I think the mayor cut back on that as I don't see them nearly as much now. They still work the area west of I 75 sometimes. The new road is wide open and as you go under I 75 it's downhill you pick up a little speed so it's a natural trap. Should be 35 there but they must protect the bridge I guess.
