North Main Street near Buffalo Street
North Main Street starts in the center of the City. The speed trap is on the far north section of North Main, north of Buffalo/Chapel Streets intersection, in the residential area. They sit in driveways and road ways on the right. In the summer, they often have one car working the radar, and a number of other cars pulling over the drivers. I have even seen them do this with a combination of City officers, Sheriff deputies and State troopers. It’s a wide 4 lane (parking on both sides) so doing 40 does not feel "uncomfortably" fast, and they are very strict. Used to give you 10 mph, then changed to 8. Last I read in the local paper, they were only giving 4-5 mph, less depending on the traffic flow.
