North Mt. Juliet Road near State Highway 70
Highway 171 (commonly referred to as Mt. Juliet Road) is a 40mph zone for a span of roughly 2-3 miles from its intersection with highway 70 (Lebanon Rd.), up to the increase to 45mph. In the 40mph zone it is very smart to keep the speed under 50. It is Mt. Juliet so there isnt much activity and absolutely no traffic so the speed is easy to forget. During the late night hours it is not uncommon for a police car to be near the MJ skating rink, the bank across from Kroger (forgive me for the bad memory), or further up near Grace United Methodist Church near the library, when the road has a few hills.
