North of TrailCenter, midway up the Gunflint Trail
Speed limit drops drastically near the TrailCenter lodges and cabins.
There are few speed limit signs after that; people speed up, thinking they are through the settlement only to find the County Police at the top of the hill to nail them.
As a matter of cat the entire Trail is poorly marked for speed limits. So Beware!

The maximum speed limit anywhere on the entire Gunflint Trail is 50. Speed limit in the area around Trail Center is 40.
