Red light and speed detection

Comments:
My husband and I both got a ticket going down the hill coming from Morgan County into Oak Ridge when the "trap" lights were first put in. Remarkably, me driving an old Chevy truck and him driving a '99 Toyota, on different days, different times, were both clocked at 51 m.p.h. No way! But how can you fight this? I think these should be illegal. The voice of the community was far against having them, but apparently these "speed traps" are here to stay. Too much money involved, not the will of the people.

Perhaps this program is just for visitors. My 77-year-old husband and I (from Cumberland County) were coming into Oak Ridge for a doctor appointment. Now, get this: He received a citation for driving 27 mph allegedly in a 20 mph zone. FIFTY dollars for driving 27 miles per hour! What a threat to the community. That's stealing, but there's no way to fight it, and they know most folks don't have the time to try. They must be raking in money by the bushels with this racket. Shame on Oak Ridge!
