Old Cavern Hwy, at the city limit marker.
There is a stretch of road along old cavern hwy that has a limit of 35 mph. This stretch is along a long stretch of farm land and a couple of houses. Traffic is also very low. I’ve been ticketed a few times along this route and I know of many others that have been ticketed too. The slow speed limit is ridicilous!

This isn't a speed trap as it is a work area on the hwy construction going out of Carlsbad towards the Caverns. The speed limit is set at 45 and well marked coming into this I am not sure where the guy is seeing the 35 mile an hour speed signs. They are busy redoing the hwy and changing it from a two lane to a four lane and once done it will be a great strech of road.
Comment was made in error as I thought it was the other part of road that was being looked at here. The area the man is talking about has a speed limit of 35 for a long way as it is considered in the city of Carlsbad. The reason I do not see this as a speed trap is that it has been posted at the speeds it has for many years and if you do not like doing the speed limits then take a different rout home that has higher listed speeds.
