Old Trenton Road past Ancil Davidson

Cranbury, New JerseyJul 08, 20102 Comments

Limit was unfairly reduced from 50 to 35 less than a month ago, and I suspect that police will be hiding in the park near the area late at night. This is a two mile long section of wide-open semi country road with few houses directly on it, so few people follow the new limit as a study determined the 85th percentile speed was close to 55 mph. No doubt that these revenue collectors/safety mavens will obsessively patrol this area within a few months. Avoid this road like the plague. Cut through the small 25 zone on Cranbury Neck Rd. to access 130 instead, but be careful, they will get you there too.

Comments:
I agree that it is rediculous that the speed was lowered to 35, but that was due to a decision by the county DOT. The police therefore are forced to try and keep speed down on this road. When they do ticket someone, the money doesn't go to Cranbury- it goes right to Plainsboro because that is the court that oversees Cranbury. Cranbury cops are good cops who usually give warnings and don't ticket for BS reasons or to generate cash. If you want to see real pig cops, then head over to Plainsboro.

The county DOT did it because the whiny cranbury residents complained relentlessly about a non-issue.
