On hwy 135 between Overton and Arp before hwy 64 overpass.

Arp, TexasJun 16, 20102 Comments

When driving from Overton towards Arp on Hwy 135 shortly before the intersection of Hwy 64 to Tyler, the speed limit changes from 70 mph to 55 mph at the Arp city limits. The cop with radar sits in the parking lot of a feed store on the left. The roadway has a dip then rises just before the feed store which provides visual cover for the cop.

Comments:
This is not a speed trap. If you would pay attention to the speed limits then you will see, it is posted at the Arp city limits. Yes the Police do sat in the parking lot of the old feed store and yes they are in the open with no cover. There is a dip in the roadway but it does not give cover for the police car. It is approximately a 1/4 of a mile from the city limits sign (speed limit sign) to the parking lot of the feed store. That gives you plenty enough time to slow down. So if you get a ticket its your own fault.

Apparently I dont have the same definition of speed trap as others I dont think that this constitutes a speed trap. Small town, limited traffic, low population , and low call volume just means that the cops are going to be sitting on a main highway most of the time. The speed limit changes. Not a drastic change and pretty normal for coming into the city limits of any city. There is also a sign warning that the speed limit is changing. So I agree. If you get a ticket its pretty much because you were not paying attention and it is your own fault. This is not called wherethecopssit.org.
