On Hwy 43 South, prior to the Hwy 69 Overpass

Jackson, AlabamaMar 29, 20101 Comments

Hwy 43 south bound, just prior to Hwy 69 overpass there is a dirt road on the right with a back-in area. They back into this area and can catch you as the car passes their location.

Comments:
I am not sure how this qualifies as a speed trap being that the speed limit goes up from 45 mph to 50 mph 1/4 mile before you get to this location. Most officers at Jackson Police Department do not write speeding tickets until the violators speed reaches 20 mph over the posted speed limit. There is also a school zone at this location that is marked by HUGE blinking lights and signs on both ends of the school zone. Officers are not allowed to hide during this time because the Department heads want visibility to the public. There are a lot of tickets issued at this location but it is due to the general public not paying attention to the very visible posted speed limit signs or just not caring about them altogether.
