On Rt 11, just west of Rt 28

They target out of state drivers. My daughter(Georgia Plate), my brother(Florida Plate) and I(North Carolina Plate) have all received tickets at this location. Rt 11 is a two lane hwy which is double yellowed for much of its length. I had been behind a vehicle traveling below the limit for several miles when an opportunity allowed me to pass. I exceeded the limit just enough to safely pass and resumed a 55 mph speed. The lights came on and I was ticketed for exceeding the limit when passing the slow moving vehicle. This is not about safety, it is tax collection without representation. Because you don’t live there, you can’t vote for sheriff.

Comments:
Hwy. 11 is a scenic Highway. Restricted speed limit. You with your NC plates, Your Fla. Plates and Georgia plates use I-85 higher speed limit and no double yellow lines...Sorry for your inconvenience but we like OUR scenic Hwy. 11 just the way it is...Keep driving thru here and help with out tax load...YA'LL have a good day and come back YA'LL

Hwy. 11: out of state people do not obey the speed limit on Hwy. 11 and that is why they often get tickets. In state people know to obey the speed limit on this road. Maybe if you are from out of state you should stay behind those people and I would recommend never passing on a double yellow line. I know several officers both from the sheriff dept. and Highway and they would give their mothers tickets for passing on a double yellow line.
