On the Westbound Lane of the Park Blvd Bridge

Indian Shores, FloridaMar 09, 20130 Comments

The Town Indian Shores police has a trap on the West side just over the hump of the Park Blvd Bridge (county road 694). They park so they are hidden by the Hump in the bridge as the two lanes expand to three for the right hand turn off at Gulf Blvd. at the west end of the bridge. The road at that point is wide enough for 4 lanes but the right lane is marked with Diagonal stripes like you would see in a median. The Police car sits in that area and you can not see them over the hump. The speed limit is 40mph but there are no signs on the West bound lanes. The east bound lane have signs. The speed limit on Park Blvd is mostly 45mph until a mile from the bridge where there are some very hard to notice signs just past the traffic light at Oakhurst/137th St. and Park Blvd. This is a very active intersection with a lot going on so if you area that intersection you are trying to pay attention to the traffic and may not see the change in the speed limit. He parks there mostly between the rush hours and late evening when traffic is light and one may think that they are alone on the road. Then Surprise!
