Pacific Street near Rocklin Road

Rocklin, CaliforniaApr 14, 20071 Comments

Revenue collection by Rocklin PD on Pacific Street between Sunset and Sierra College Road in Rocklin, is staked out by BMW motorbikes using both LIDAR and Stalker Radar on the Ka band. Pacific street has many trees and concrete planters in which the bikes hide behind. The posted limit is 35MPH, though the street with its four wide lanes appears to look like a 45-50MPH zone to the average driver. Rocklin officers show no mercy during their revenue collection, while they have you stopped, they will look for anything else to tack on to your ticket(ie broken lights, no front plate, window tint)

Comments:
Keep in mind- the defintion of a speed trap is when the posted signs indicate a speed lower than what an engineering traffic survey (ETS) found to be the safe speed AND an officer then writes a ticket based on that low speed. It is not illegal for them to sit on the side of the road and hide behind the "trees?" The speed limit is 40mph between Sunset Blvd. and Sierra College Blvd.
