Palmetto Point Blvd

Myrtle Beach, South CarolinaAug 12, 20112 Comments

The speed limit on this road is 30 mph. I was cited for 39mph. Granted, it is posted at one end but nobody in their right mind would think that a rural, straight road with no residential frontage would be a 30mph zone. Every other road I see with the same traffic volume, etc is at least 50mph. I have been told this road is the largest revenue generator for Horry County Police. I was in the area touring various commercial investment properties to develop but after realizing the way they do business there, I decided to put my company’s $20 million in Florida. The last thing I need is having my crews racking up fines and raising our insurance due to a podunk town speed trap.

Comments:
Yes the speed need to be change to 40 in that area I drive all the way into Woodberry neighborhood. Most resident use this same road to get in and get out. Only one road. I wish the open another road to 544 or 14 bypass for public safety.

I mean 17 bypass so it will connect palmetto point blvd. for public safety. At least resident will have more than one road to get in into their residents.
