Park Boulevard near Jupiter Road

Plano, TexasAug 30, 20071 Comments

The entire area of Park Blvd from Avenue K to the city limit. This is a residential area. The speed limit is 30 and they enforce to that speed. They use unmarked cars and park in between parked cars and on side streets. Keep to 30 to be safe.

Comments:
East Park Blvd., between Ave K and Spring Creek is most definitely a speed trap. I have personally tried numerous times to get the Plano Police Dept. to stop hiding between parked cars to issue citations only after motorists inadvertently mistake the speed limit which is normal for a boulevard, 40 to 45 MPH, for this rare exception. They have refused to use properly posted speed limit signs, on the right side of the road instead of in the middle of the blvd., and what would be far more effective means of alerting motorists, such as painted SLOW signs on the pavement, speed bumps, and residential street side parking warning signs. If they were truly concerned about the safety of the residents on this street, they would want to PREVENT speeding, but then they wouldn't collect as much easy revenue for the City if they did.
