Park Drive near Twin Oaks Park

Oftentimes m/c cops will use radar while sitting in the entrance to the retirement community monitoring traffic just passing Twin Oaks Park headed toward Stanford Ranch Drive. But the most elaborate trap I’ve ever seen was at least 9 vehicles in use nailing drivers in both directions going past Twin Oaks Park. One cop was using Lidar from 20′ above the roadway in a City of Rocklin cherry picker, and he was clearly communicating to the small army of "ground units," several of which were motorcycles hiding behind the huge cherry picker truck.

And that's how bad the speeding problem was on that section of roadway. It was important enough to the residents in the area to improve safety. So, between the residents and the police, they were able to think out of the box to address your speed. Keep in mind- the defintion of a speed trap is when the posted signs indicate a speed lower than what an engineering traffic survey (ETS) found to be the safe speed AND an officer then writes a ticket based on that low speed.
