Parkway Dr between Court and Broadway
The speed limit has been lowered to 30 MPH in the last year and has become a revenue boost for the city. The police like to sit in the golf course behind bushes in the warm months and sometimes stand behind them. Driving north, you are going downhill,making it hard to stay under the limit without the use of brakes.

My husband & I were driving this stretch going with the traffic when a cop pulled out from his lying in wait spot, got behind us and turned on his flashing lights. We were totally surprised. He said we were speeding in a school zone but it was SATURDAY! Since when is there school on Saturday? Then he said the speed limit was 30 MPH all over that Pekin area and we were going 43. We were not going any faster than the other vehicles. Then he said, 'Well, you were the leader of the pack,' which was untrue. In our opinions this is definitely a speed trap. We are from a nearby town and had been shopping at a Pekin supermarket. Because of the unfair SPEED TRAP TICKET ticket given to my husband, we will NEVER shop in Pekin, IL again!
