Picciola Cutoff
The road curves in the area, and there is a hill on either side of the curve. The north side of the road borders Lake Griffin State Park, and the trees from the park – along with the hills – make the inside of the curve impossible to see. Fruitland Park PD likes to hide on the inside of the curve, and by the time a driver sees the police cruiser alongside the road it is too late.

Smartass motorcycle cop pulled my wife over. Said she was doing 48 in a 30. She's never had a ticket or accident in her life. She was only62 at the time. Was slowing down at the light on 27 at the end of the cutoff when he stopped her. When he asked for her license, she had to unbuckle from s/belt to reach purse and he then accused her of not having her belt on. Now this old country boy hates to be suckered.but we were heading home the next day and did not stay any longer to fight the ticket. PS: My boat, camper, and money no longer visit this little asshole town nor do most of our friends who've experienced the same thing thru the years.
