Preston-Fall City Road
Preston has a mile-long 25 mph zone that is subject to an enforcement blitz once every month or two. For a full day a pair of fully marked WSP patrol cars will sit at entrance to the Preston Mill gravel parking lot (across from the fire station), the intersection with Upper Preston Rd., and in the school bus turn around 2 blocks to the north and pick off traffic in both directions through this (very) small town.
The road is heavily trafficked during both rush hours and 80th %-ile speeds are around 32 on this stretch of road. I imagine the tickets aren’t big but there are plenty of them. It’s hard for commuters along this street not to speed when you are tailgated due to the artificially low limit and no passing for the full distance from I-90 in Preston to Fall City. There are, sadly, no alternative routes. No axe to grind here except with the ridiculously low limit on this stretch of road, luckily I haven’t been caught in this nonsense yet.
