Ramp into Airport for Departing Flights

Albuquerque, New MexicoMar 17, 20100 Comments

Been a while, but I flew in, rented a car, turned east out of the carport onto Sunport Blvd and went up what turned out to be the entrance ramp to the airport, which the hill blocks from view. On the ramp, the speed limit signs stairstep down rapidly to 15 mph. (Later, I saw that some were hidden behind trees.) As you crest the entrance ramp hill, boom, you’re in the offload area with an officer flagging you over. I had been looking for a left turn, which wasn’t to be found, and had a ticket (25 in a 15) within 3 minutes of renting that car. Perfect trap for out-of-towners and for reckless driving charges. In-towners — fix those signs.
