I just came across this website and wanted to comment several years ago I successfully had a speeding ticket for vc 22350 dismissed. The ticket was given by a RPD Motorcycle officer sitting just passed the end of the long overpass section travelling uphill in the eastbound direction using radar. He was sitting on the right hand shoulder but was not visible until the incline begins to level out leaving no time to reduce your speed. I was successful in using the Speed Trap defense by showing the T&E Survey did not justify the posted speed limit. The critical speed on the report did not justify the posted limit. Please note this was several years ago (5-7) so the current report on record will obviously be newer than the one filed when I fought my ticket. In my opinion the judge was completely aware of this location being an obvious speed trap because after the officer testified I began my argument and within seconds once I quoted the definition of a Speed Trap and intended to prove the Survey did not justify the posted limit specifically do to the critical speed limit, the judge interrupted me and kept my written testimony I was reading and advised he would to the case into consideration. The judge asked me if I would like to return to court for his decision or would I like to have it mailed. 10 days later I received the dismissal. The fact the judge cut me off immediately made me believe this was a known speed trap to the court and the judge did not want my testimony heard by the several other parties following my case with the same officer.
