Ridge Pike, Between the Collegeville Inn and Level Road

Going eastbound on Ridge Pike between the Collegeville Bridge and Level Road has become a popular speed trap location. This .8 miles length of road is rated at 40 MPH. There are two speed signs alone this length of road of which both are very difficult to see, especially during the morning. One sign is located just past the entrance of the Collegeville Inn, mixed in with the construct entrance and its coinciding signage. The 2nd sign is in front of the Ibew 380 Union Credit Building. This sign hides in the shadows of the telephone that is just a foot or two behind it plus the large tree. During your morning drive (when they conduct the trap) you will be diving uphill into the low sun. The car with the radar will sit on the side of the red brick building that is downhill / west of this sign. As a result you will have already been shot with the radar before you had a chance to see the speed side. The pickup cars will sit in the parking lot of the carpet place on the right or the building before it. Here’s where the word trap really comes into play. Once you are finally near enough to see the second speed sign over the sun glare and the shade of the telephone pole and tree, you can see the 45 MPH sign. Of course this sign is just past Level Road, making it a new length of road. As a result you a clocked on the first .4 – .5 mile portion of this road. So if you’re driving on this road in the morning and manage to make the light just after you crossed the bridge from Collegeville, you better hit the brakes hard or your get nailed.
