Riveroaks Drive

Myrtle Beach, South CarolinaMar 11, 20113 Comments

whole stretch from route 501 to route 31. Come to a complete stop at the railroad tracks or get ticketed. lived here three years and have yet to see a train pass through but you better come to a complete stop. (cops must have a deal with local brake repair shops). Riveroaks drive starts out at 35mph goes to 45mph then back to 35mph. Be extra careful where roadway is two lanes each way near shopping center. 35mph here although its 4 lanes and wide open and it appears you are going 10mph. ticket here will cost you $133.00 plus points. I travel this road often and the public would be better served if police would be more concerned with tailgating which is horrible on this stretch of road. (they could have a much more elaborate policemen’s ball).
Welcome to Myrtle Beach.

Comments:
The State Police would be better served to not worry about the speeders and spend a little more time dealing with the drug situation on river oaks road in the condos on the left and right hand side of the road just past the railroad tracks. Set up a plane car on friday and saturday night and just watch. If you cant catch any drug movement, then go back to speeders. Drugs thrie are like buying gasoline. Welcome to the wonderful world of Myrtle Beach.

Hey i have to say you are crazy there is a speeding problem here i live in bellegrove and can't walk over to food lion because of you people going 60 in a 35 don't say this does not happen because IT DOES and the people that say the cops need to go are the ones that speed. Also just to let you know when they make all the roads in CF 4 lanes the speed WILL DROP to 35.

I have lived in Myrtle Beach 20 years, I don't know how you have lived here 2 years and have never seen a train on those tracks, at least once a month 84 lumber get a deliery by rail, and the only rail goes through the intersection you're talking about....you just havent been paying attention.I do believe that they need gates on all the train/road intersections because god knows when there is the rare ocasion the train passes, idiots are allways stopped on the tracks because they "Have never seen a train". The speed limit on River Oaks drive on the other hand i exactly that, a speed trap. 35 miles an hour? at least 45 all the way through, keeps me on my toes. As for the person who says they can't get across the street.....I grew up on a major highway, speed limit was 45 and I never had problems getting across the street R L R thats what we were taught.
